Szugyi Knives Custom 6in AEBL Stainless Steel Mini K-Tip Knife
From the maker:
Like many I have been a long-time knife collector and knife aficionado. I grew up in Puerto Rico and did not have much access to the custom knife market. In my late 20s I moved to Michigan and got a full dose of custom handmade knives. My first passion was hunting and outdoor bush-craft style blades. I spent a lot of time making these kinds of knives by hand using files and a cobbled together charcoal, firebrick-forge. I have since honed my craft and have now advanced to a more sophisticated means of knife-making. Making quality handmade knives is my passion. Although I still enjoy crafting the occasional hunting and camp knife, Japanese-inspired kitchen knives is the direction I am pursuing.
Why Japanese kitchen knives?
Japanese kitchen knives have a long rich history dating back to the time of the Samurai. Japanese blade-smiths not only made swords, they also made knives for everyday use. After WW2 many sword-smiths gave up sword-making all together and became full time knife-makers. Japanese kitchen knives are designed to be light weight and easy to wield. Many of these knives use high carbon steel which produces the sharpest of edges. I make knives that are patterned after these traditional designs with modern steels and modern handle materials. My desire is to honor the traditions of Japanese knife-making.
I am committed to making the very best knife experience possible. All of my knives will be made from the very best quality materials I can source. I guarantee your knife will be heat treated properly and the handles will be made to hold up to a full days work. They will be some of the sharpest and most visually pleasing knives you will ever hold. Whether it be your kitchen at home or working on the line at a commercial kitchen, my knives will put a smile on your face.
