Kizer DOCK October in Red Micarta
I've only had this knife a few days, but it's been in my pocket three times already (I switch out knives daily), and it's impressed me. The micarta is really nice, and I like the texture of it. Grippy but not sticky - super easy to handle with confidence. The hardware is minimal and looks good on the red version. The clip could be better I think, but it does the job fine - I think the fact that it's so shiny throws me off; it carries well. Action is superb - flipper works great, and I can both thumb and spider-flick it open. The liner lock is accessible and works well, and I like the detent on this knife. The blade is beefy for such a small knife, which is why I think they put that fuller on it. It looks good and hasn't impeded any of my cutting tasks. For the price, you're not going to find anything better in CPM-20CV. It's a great knife. I have some other knives with micarta scales and this one feels the best in hand due to the quality and finish (I think) of the micarta. Overall: 10/10 The guys at the shop are really good about the details of things if you're interested, while simultaneously not getting to the point of boring non-knife people. I can say that firsthand as my wife tagged along with me once and she was super comfortable; had questions and we even picked her up a knife. Way of Knife is my favorite small vendor - they don't carry as much as the bigger shops online, but they have a nice selection and get some really nice/unique pieces in. Plus, their in-house customization is a great perk as well as reasonably priced for the services they offer... Their Creative Freedom stuff is always cool to see on Instagram. And they're responsive to queries, which I appreciate and at the end of the day is just good business. Those guys also get a 10/10 rating. Superstars.
