The first defining feature of this knife is its blade, which is crafted from Crucible® CPM® REX® 45—a super-high-speed particle metallurgy tool steel enriched with large volumes of cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum, and vanadium. CPM REX45's high cobalt content increases its attainable hardness, while its vanadium carbides provide high wear resistance, fine grain size, and increased toughness. This knife’s blade is further distinguished by a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

Equally unique, the knife's lightweight handle is injection molded from white fiberglass-reinforced co-polymer (FRCP). To complement the blade’s finish, its reversible wire clip and all handle hardware also sport durable black coatings. All other features of this remarkable knife are consistent with the established Manix 2 Lightweight platform, including a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock™ mechanism and a non-slip Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern.
