Description

New exclusive scales for the Spyderco Lightweight Para 3! Until now, knife collectors had zero options for the Spyderco Lightweight Para 3, not anymore! These scales are made by Chroma Scales in Illinois exclusively for us. They're slightly more contoured and feel great in hand and come with a free matching bead. These have not been tested with aftermarket parts, utilizing oem lightweight hardware, these had excellent fit and finish. The scales are 3D printed with a detailed image of realistic clouds across both handles and bead. More options to come!

PM3LW scales about what I expected

Posted by Todd P. on Aug 2nd 2022

The scales fit together fine, after a little fiddling I was able to get a centered blade with zero blade movement while still dropping shut upon unlocking. The scales are very light, but only flex a bit if pinched, not enough to worry. They are a pleasant shape in hand, just a little more rounded, however I'm not in love with the texture, somewhat smooth but sporadically bumpy like a globe. Though the fit was functionally tight, it looked a little janky in spots, like where the scales meet together along the spine, nothing awful just a little uneven which draws the eye to it. I was happy to see that the OCD4EDC tab I had attached previously still worked fine, but a little bummed that the PacificSons pocket clip did not fit these scales. All in all this is a pretty sweet option, totally worth the 35 bucks. tho it'd be nice to see this done with a higher grade material, despite what it would do to the price.
