This limited-edition Sprint Run™ expression of the Spyderco Delica 4 features a three-layer laminate blade with an Aogami Super Blue tool steel core and SUS410 stainless steel outer layers. The pinnacle of Hitachi’s three premium-grade high-carbon steels, Aogami Super Blue combines the same superior-quality iron sand used to craft legendary Japanese swords with high-tech alloys including tungsten, molybdenum, and vanadium to create a steel capable of achieving extreme sharpness and edge retention. To further optimize its performance, it is clad between SUS410 outer layers that enhance its structural strength and overall toughness.

Equally unique, the fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle of this Delica 4 features a stunning two-tone blue-gray Zome treatment. The lightweight handle is first injection molded in a light base color. It is then hand dyed using a painstaking process called Zome (pronounced "zoh-may"). Inspired by traditional Japanese art forms used to dye textiles, expert artisans hand brush dye onto each handle to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind patterns. This labor-intensive technique is reminiscent of classical hiki-zome (brush dyeing) and makes every one of these knives an individual work of art. To complement its satin-finished blade, this knife’s four-position pocket clip and all other handle hardware are also brightly finished.
